Engine sputtering

When I get into some water about as deep as my tires or deeper my engine sometimes starts to sputter and act like it has no power. It takes a little while but it goes back to normal. Is the spark plug getting wet? Someone said the intake might be picking up steam from the engine. Any ideas?
Thanks.

you are ither getting water into the carb vents which is two rubber hoses wrapped around the carborator or you are getting water in the carb drain which is run down under the right floor board.

to fix the carborator vents you sould go to the hard ware store and get some 3/16" (i belive) rubber hose and a tee so that you can take the two and run them into the same line. take the one line and run it upunder the the front fenders just under the pod light and put two or three loops in the hose and zip tie them to gether.

to fix the the drain just take you a good screw or golf tee and plug it when you are going to get wet. there is supposed to be check valve on the end of the drain but it ither doesnt work properly(most likly) or it is completely gone. the bad thing about pluggin it is that if you ride off camber or hills there carb bowl will get full and not be able to empty until you unplug it.

two words: DIELECTRIC GREASE!!!!!

i have it in EVERY electrical connection. also in the fuse links. the carb has to be vented higher like he said. i have two check valves on the float bowl drain as well as a screw for inserting in the tube when we ride through the ponds. silicone and dielectric grease can do wonders for you if you use 'em. my 98 foreman has been under water for thirty -fortyfive minutes at the time during the summer months. only handlebars and snorkel showing. i don't like the 07 that deep for that long but as long as it's sealed it stays runnin'. try sealing things up and then drop it deep!!!!

no doubt about it , it is you intake picking up steam. I had my vent lines ran up to my pod and everything dieletric greased up with a stock air intake and had the same problem until i snorkled it. Now it never misses a lick. Triangle atv offers a snorkle for the foreman or you can do a home brew job like myself and everyone else. A snorkle will deffinatly take care of your problems.

i'm sorry...i assumed a snorkel was in the works, due to being in water as high as the top of tires...nothing i said matters too much without a snorkel!!!
Hey is there a Benson's Animal Farm near you? I heard you can feed a lama nuts...

its always a good thing to run the vents lines up to the pod but it might be water in the exhaust thats the only time i have that problem
